The Tax Collector's function is to enforce the collection of all taxes imposed by the Town of Somers, ( RE, PP, & MV) by utilizing all collection tools available to the Tax Office under state statutes and local ordinances, while maintaining a customer friendly office devoted to serving the public.

IMPORTANT: YOUR TAXES BECOME DUE AND PAYABLE ON JULY 1ST, 2009. YOU HAVE UNTIL AUGUST 3RD BEFORE INTEREST STARTS ACCRUING. CALL 860-763-8209 FOR TOTAL DUE.
METHODS OF PAYMENT:
In person: We accept money orders, bank checks, personal checks (except delinquent MV taxes), major credit cards, (except American Express) and cash.
By mail: Please make checks payable to: Tax Collector, Somers P.O. Box 235 Somers CT 06071
Your taxes are delinquent! If you still want to pay on-line, you must call the office for interest and fees. After entering your bill number ie: 2008030054321, click edit and change the amount shown to include these charges or the DMV will still show you as delinquent!
Online payments: Pay here at the town's website www.somersct.gov. This method will be available again around June 15th 2009.
Follow the instructions carefully! You may use a Credit Card or a Debit Card. There is a user fee associated with this process which will be revealed to you before you pay your taxes.
IN OFFICE CC PAYMENTS : WE ACCEPT VISA, MASTERCARD, AND DISCOVER CARDS.
NOTE: THERE IS A 2.45% CONVENIENCE FEE CHARGED TO YOU FROM THE CREDIT CARD COMPANY WHEN CARD IS SWIPED.
Please note: The only time that the DMV notifies us of a change in the status of your motor vehicle is when you transfer a plate from one vehicle to another. In all other cases, you must bring documentation in to the assessor in order to adjust your bill. She needs the date that this change occured in order to credit your account properly. All changes will occur immediately upon receipt of this information and a refund form or adjusted bill will be created.
